We recently sold my father's house in Minnetonka, and I just wanted to write and tell you how pleased I am with the whole process.  Our realtors were Scott and Katie Nagel and they did an outstanding job of listening to me, providing research and information in order for us to price and sell the house to meet our needs.

 

My father passed away and I was executor of his estate.  The house at 3020 Atwood Drive, Minnetonka was "tired" and was in need of a lot of work.  Katie did an amazing job of staging the home.  They brought in furniture, accessories etc.  When my husband and I walked in the house after Katie staged it we just stood there and said "wow".

 

I was not interested in spending much time or money fixing up the house, but wanted to sell "as is", knowing someone else would need to fix it up. Considering this, Scott and Katie did a great job of helping us evaluate what and what did not need to be addressed prior to sale.   Because the house was vacant, and we were losing potential investment earnings on the money for the house, I decided it was better to sell the house at a reduced rate, rather than hold on to the house in hopes of finding a future buyer to pay a higher price.  Scott did an excellent job of explaining the value of the house compared to others in the market study.  With this information, I was able to make an informed choice as to what price we would be willing to sell at.  As you know, the market is soft, yet we were able to sell within a reasonable amount of time, and I was pleased with the price..  Scott

listened and met the needs of our specific situation.

 

Scott and Katie have outstanding people skills, and were able to help us navigate through the process.  I am extremely pleased with Scott and Katie and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for Realtors.    They are an amazing couple and went above and beyond what I would expect from Realtors´.

I first used Scott as my buying agent when I relocated to the Twin Cities in 2004. This past year (2009) my wife and I decided that we were interested in moving into a home that was a bit larger and better suited my family's needs. I had the opportunity to use Scott again for the sale of my home as well as the purchase of my new one.

Scott (and his wife, Katie too!) did a great job of giving us the information and advice we needed to prepare our home for the market. When the time came for listing, Scott prepared a very informative analysis report, which backed up with facts and statistics the range he felt our home would sell. On the very FIRST day it was listed we had an offer, and by the third day, we already had a purchase agreement in place. I was pleasantly surprised because the market has been so tough, but I do feel that a big contributing factor to its quick sale was the advice we got from Scott on preparing our home, as well as his advice and research on pricing the home correctly.

When it came time to look for our new home, Scott did a good job of learning what attributes were important to my family and I and doing research and touring homes on our behalf. He was patient as we toured homes (some of them multiple times!) and helped point out potential vices or virtues for many of the homes that we may have missed on our own.

Once we had a purchase agreement on the new home, Scott was absolutely ESSENTIAL in helping us navigate lenders, appraisers, and inspectors. If an issue arose, he often made the phone calls and information seeking on our behalf, and left us to getting our house packed and ready for the move.

  • I enjoyed your demeanor.  From the outset I really felt that I could trust you and trust your knowledge and opinions as we went through the process of finding a home.  You were always open to my thoughts, never questioned any of my feelings, and took what I said into account when looking for the ideal home.
  • You paid good attention to detail.  If I said I liked something about a place, you made a concerted effort to find that in subsequent places we looked at.  If I didn´t like a place you seemed to do a good job of eliminating places that may have had similar qualities.
  • I thought your pace was good.  I never felt like you were trying to rush me into a place.  Conversely, you never made me feel like I was dragging my feet.  You were patient, understanding, and kept my best interests in mind.
  • You took initiative to set things up that I may not have or would have been slow to do.  You found a good inspector, you set up gas, electricity, and utilities in my name, etc.  I appreciate you taking the initiative to set this up for me when I know you didn´t have to do that.
  • You treated me like a friend more than like a client.  This is probably the highest compliment I could pay you for your service.  Coming into this experience I really didn´t know what to expect in a realtor.  I was skeptical to get one involved so early but am glad now that I was referred to you.  I never felt like you put your own monetary interests before mine.  I respected that from you very much.

 

Overall, I felt like the experience was much more fun and less stressful that I envisioned it would be.  If and when I have friends or colleagues thinking of a new home, I will be sure to recommend you as someone they should definitely talk to.  The same goes for me when I go through this process again along with the new challenge of selling a home in a few years or whenever that happens!

As you recall, my sister and I were not having much luck selling our mother's condo.
Prior to meeting you we had been shrugged off by a couple of Real Estate agents.  When you appeared on the scene it was a God send!
In your always professional manner you treated our condo as a high end property.  This, is spite of the location and over age 55 requirement of the building.  We were awed by your accessibility.  Many times we were able to reach you directly.  When you were not immediately available we always received a call back in a timely manner.
We were both impressed by the time line of the sale.  The condo was listed in early April and by early May we had the offer.  This occurred in a very tight housing market not to mention condo market!  In spite of a "hiccup" during the closing you kept us calm and fully informed of our options.  We were very pleased with the end result.  The new buyer even tracked us down as we were leaving the parking lot to thank us and express his pleasure meeting us.  What about that...both parties were grateful!  We'd call that a real win-win!
